Is Liguria a good place to go on a summer holiday?
Is there nice beaches in the area?
Also, is Genova a nice place to visit too?

Is there any other locations that you recommend near these destinations that are worth a visit?
We are looking for: Beaches, sea, history, architecture etc.

Thank you!

I’m from Genova. It’s a nice city. Big historical centre and ancient port (Porto Antico) near acquarium are nice to visit
Here I found a guide in english.
http://www.virtualtourist.com/travel/Eur ope/Italy/Liguria/Genoa-150508/Things_To _Do-Genoa-TG-C-1.html
For holidays.. from Bordighera (west) to Lerici (east) almost all little cities on coast are holiday’s places. Into Genova city there is the port for a long part so for beaches is not the best (also for Savona and LaSpezia i think) but out of industrial zones you can find nice places. It would be nice to visit also SanRemo (flowers city), Bordighera, Alassio.. and other
I wish to have helped you enough.
If you need to know something you can ask me I’ll try to help you
Liguria is very nice, especially places like Alassio, Portofino, Rapallo…etc. Also obvious places like Cinque Terre.

BUT!!!!

The beaches are quite small and it’s very expensive to spend a day on the beach. In most places you have to ‘rent’ a parasol and deckchair (about 15 Euro per day). The free beach space is very limited in each town. I find it a very claustrophobic place to spend a holiday. Many people from Milan, Turin and other cities have second houses in Liguria and go there at weekends from May onwards making parking a nightmare and the beaches packed.

Genova is a big port city. The historical centre is worth a visit, but I wouldn’t go there looking for a beach.
U can understand it by yourself… go in google and type cinque terre… then look at the pics… isnt it the most beautiful thing u have ever seen???

Here is it

Check it out!!

Depends on the area… Cinque Terre are beautiful. They are: Monterosso, Vernazza, Corniglia, Manarola, Riomaggiore. Portofino is beautiful, too.

I don’t like Genova. I suggest only its aquarium. It isn’t a great place for beaches and sea.

I prefer Tuscany or Riviera Romagnola (Emilia-Romagna).
In Tuscany, you could choose a place near the see and near some great cities. So you can stay to the seaside and have some daily trip (going by train) in Pisa, Siena ect.
However, as for Romagna, you could go in Rimini, Milano Marittima…
Hi I’m Italian and I’m 13, I live in Lombardy and Liguria have been many times and is very beautiful, the sea is clear and there are some veri nice places but I suggest you visit the Tuscan!!..Believe me..
I love America you know, I wanna be American except food..ah..Bye Bye

honestly, the Liguria region is not very good if you are looking to go to the beach only because it is quite rocky in most spots. a good area in northern italy to go to the beaches would be to go to Tuscany (along the coast obvioulsy) or visit the Emilia Romagna region near Ravenna and Rimini, there is plenty of architecture, history, and beaches….
maybe consider visiting central italy and going to the Abruzzo region, its rich in all of the aspects ur looking for.
Which one do you like better and why. Which one will last longer, which company has a better record? For awhile I was stuck on the CTS, but that recent commercial for the MKZ really swayed me.

Plot: Shortly before the end of World War II, young, bright-eyed, First-Lieutenant Thomas Hart, a third-generation desk-warrior, is stationed in an office miles away from any fighting. He meets the war only by accident and is taken prisoner. During interrogation, Hart faces a test of honor, courage, and sacrifice he had not prepared for. Surviving the interrogation, the horrified Hart witnesses courage and honor in the acts of his fellow-prisoners, who save him from certain death by sacrificing their belongings and even their own lives. At the POW camp, Hart learns that courage, sacrifice, and honor are much harder to find, as men become embittered in their captivity. Instead, fraternization, opportunism, and racism abound, ever-encouraged by the murderous Nazis, lead by a grounded Luftwaffe colonel; and mostly tolerated by the senior-ranking American colonel, in spite of his being a 4th-generation military offcer. Col. McNamara, mostly indifferent to the goings-on of his Americans, defiantly draws the line at racism, saluting even the Russian “Untermenschen” in the neighboring compound. But this line becomes much less distinct as two downed African-American pilots join him in the American compound. Suddenly, American racism manifests itself and escalates until one of the pilots is murdered, and the other is accused of murdering one of the racist conspirators. A law-student before the war, Hart is appointed by McNamara to “defend” the court-marshalled pilot, where Hart learns that McNamara has taken great pains to guarantee a verdict of “guilty” against the lone African-American. For many prisoners, the war would be over. For Hart, it has barely begun, as he fights to find within himself the courage and honor that seems to be completely lost within the camp, and only to be had among the dead and the condemned.

No offense or anything, but people on here won’t do your homework for you. As long as you have an answer or an analysis from supporting details in the story, then you will be fine. It’s all about taking examples from the poems and justifying your answer. It doesn’t have to be correct. This used to torment me in my literature class, too.
i have never had a repeat of a dream before…well i think i have but only with some similarities…and i feel like my latest dreams are really trying to tell me something….the first night i had one of these dreams…i was beginning to fall asleep so i got comfortable and tried to fall asleep in my bed…i got this weird pins and needles like feeling all over my body, kind of like when i used to get the nitrous oxide at the dentist….i wasn’t completely asleep and i know a part of me was still awake…like i was asleep but i could tell that i was in my bed and still partly awake. in my dream my best friend and her little sister were picking me up to bring me to their house but it was nighttime and very dark out…we were not far from my house…i recognized the intersection we were coming to and on the corner there was a completely black figure of what looked like a man in a baseball cap…it also looked like he has a large case in his hand and when we reached the intersection(there were no cars or anyone else around) i realized my window was open in the car and when we drove past him he seemed very close..he was saying something but i didn’t know what or if he was even talking to me and i was very scared as we drove past but then i woke up after we passed him…when i woke up i realized i still hadn’t been fully asleep at anytime that night and that is the strangest part…i’ve never had a dream without being completely asleep…i was so scared for some reason and couldn’t get back to sleep…the next night it happened again…the strange feelingg again and the not fully asleep thing…and when the dream began i was again being picked up at night to go to a friend’s house..only this time the friend was not my friend from the first dream but my other close friend…again we came to another intersection kind of close to my house right where my brother used to live and as we were drving towards it i thought i saw something move across the road but i just ignored it…then i realized i heard a girl scream but it was strange i didn’t hear it when it happened and i only noticed someone had screamed a few seconds after…the driver of the car started to turn as if to pull over andi didn’t know why…again i saw a completely dark figure but i don’t think it was a man like the first dream unless he was on all fours..i remember thinking it was a dog or something but i was in the backseat and i was resting on the door in a position a lot like the one i was actually sleeping in my bed in…i remember being scared of the figure and wanting to sit up straight but i couldn’t, then i woke up and as i woke i was pushing myself into an upright position like i was in the dream and i was breathing heavily….this never happens to me…my dreams are usually so ridiculous and inconstant and never make any sense….i actually don’t remember my dreams very often and i usually have to be in a very deep sleep…i just want to know what these dreams could mean and what the tingly feeling could be….i really would like to hear from someone and i’m sorry it is so long but i would appreciate help(:

your dream is telling you that you have to slow down emotionally . Eider you are growing or changing if you young person or some another changes are in your life that you did not accept them yet.
if you are teenager it is just emotional changes that will take place.
What you have to do you have to have some quite time before you fell to sleep to mediate or pray to feel what you feel during day. try to process your feelings before you go to bed. If you are grown person you are going true some changes and you have to slow down. Take emotional brake sometime . ME time . Your dream is telling you that you are looking so much around that you have lost connection with your inner self in some way is warning you that is time for you to pay more attention to yourself and your feelings stop looking around and waiting for other people acceptance
Zita | Feb 04, 2010

The dream could be saying that you are on a journey that is familiar and you have been on it before, or that it is different and feels familiar, perhaps deceptively familiar, the man with the base ball cap completly in black could signify that you are concerned over not knowing exactly where you are headed. the base ball cap signifying occupation(s). going from your friends house(in the context that you like your friends and are comfotable there)may signify that a place you once were located at is now being left or soon will be. also (the 2nd friend) the second time could say that you are afraid that some of your friends will not be with you or that they will not. intersections can symbolize choices(how many intersecting streets?) the man/dog could be a hint at a person whom has a facade and who you might be leaving behind. all in black with no features represented could mean that your unsure who will be left behind. one care could mean that you feel as if your the only one going throught the journey. being in the backseat could mean you have no control on where you are going or very little.

Should I accept my boyfriend's behavior.. HELP NEEDED?
OK so… I have been with my boyfriend for 1.5 yrs . We’re 18.

3 nights ago (Tuesday night) I was on the phone with him and everything was fine and he said he would call in the morning… I haven’t heard from him since. (and this isnt usual because we talk every day and im pretty much always with him)

And ive been really worried and nobody knows where he is. I told my parents about the situation and they took the initiative to call his grandmother (who he lives with) to see where he was.. his uncle picked up the phone and said on Wednesday afternoon he packed up his stuff and left to stay at a friend’s house because he didnt want to be home for when the big snow storm was going to hit.

He has not called me once and if he was with his friend wouldnt he be able to call me? (He doesnt have a cell phone anymore).

Should I wait until he eventually calls me and see what he has to say.. or not tolerate this behavior and break it off completely?
WTF I HAVENT HEARD FROM HIM IN 4 DAYS AND WE HAD BIG PLANS THAT HE COMPLETELY BLEW OFF. AND HE DOESNT HAVE A CELL PHONE FOR ME TO CONTACT HIM ON . IVE TRIED EVERYTHING TO REACH HIM

no don’t break it off, obviously he is going through something, and he’s doing stuff to get attention so ppl can reach out to him, and help. That’s what it sounds like to me. If he doesn’t come around soon than something is definitely wrong, but i would wait i’m sure he will come around…

if your considering breaking up with a bf because he hasnt called you today you dont deserve to be with him
Ocky | Feb 05, 2010

If you’re talking about ‘not tolerating’ anything, you obviously don’t love him. Why are you wasting his time?
Piglet | Feb 05, 2010

Call the friend’s house just to see if he is OK. You can decide then whether to break it off or not. Right now I would say dump him.
Petard | Feb 05, 2010

He might have a good reason for not calling you. I suggest that you hear out his explanation before you decide to break off your 1.5 year relationship with him.
Alvie | Feb 05, 2010

If you can’t reach him then it’s hard to tell him that you are breaking it off. Wait until you hear from him then make your decision. I agree, though, this does not make him look good.
fleppy100 | Feb 05, 2010

OH MY GOD! you should wait you shouldn’t break up with him and if you actually have to even ask that you probably don’t really love him. Listen just wait okay or if he takes to long then ask him what happen you don’t want to talk to me? you like to hide things from me? Don’t you think i desreve to know what’s been going on? and see what happens. good luck:)
Princesz C | Feb 05, 2010

if he hasn’t done anything like this before, then maybe you should wait till he calls and sees what he has to say.good luck sweetie
champion | Feb 05, 2010

Wait until he calls you and see what he has to say. If he doesnt have a cell phone and his friend doesnt have a phone, how would he be able to call? When he calls you dont start going off on him, just listen to what he has to say.

what do you think i should doooo?
i know this is about to be long, but please read i could really use some encourging words right about now.

well, basicly me and my mother dont get along, i havent seen my dad since i was 5. and because of this i live with my cousins, im 17 and moved in a little over two years ago. i appriciate everything they do for me, and i had a pretty shitty life before they helped me.. now i try my hardest to make them proud of me and show them how much they mean to me and it seems like the harder i try the less they care. i clean the house everyday, and well at first it was by choice since i didnt have a job to buy them nice gifts, or because its hard for me to talk about my feelings i couldnt write them a letter.. i would just clean, after awhile they didnt care it was expected from me, and became more of my job. living with my mother i made alot of mistakes and basicly droped out of school for a a little over a year and so living here and going into 9th grade was hard because i didnt know anything! but i managed to get c’s! the best grades ive had since i could rember and i was so proud of myself. they were dissapointed! they got mad because there daughter who is 11 had A’s and B’s. and they said it was even more pathetic that i was proud of them this really hurt me but i tried harder. and a year later. im still doing thisss and it still has got me noo where. i now recently found jesus, and have been leaning on him to get me thorough.. i have a 3.0 gpa and still not goood enough, i had a job interivew today! my very first one,… they dont think ill get the job. like who would hire me…. through all they put me threw i relize i will never been enough. and i lost faith in myself.. and i feel horribleee. i hate my life. i mean i wouldnt commit suicide sooo dont think that but i really am so sick of living here. and any little mistake i make they make me feell so bad and if they yell at me, and i dont respond to there questions the way they like, or say anything at all. they say im not your mother, i have no ties to you. you dont have to live here. and today a little insident happended where i told her i was going with my friend ashley to my interview. like she would drop me off because she wouldnt be home till 10 mintues before, and thats about how far i live from there… well she said yes. i could go but she didnt recal that and got mad at me toook my phone away and told me that i have communication problems and im childish and that when i turn 18 i can move out of her house. and leave everything she bought me behindd. she says this all the time… recently you can tell she means it. well this conversation was over the phone before i walked into my interview. i was a wreck sitting there.. talking i couldnt smile.. i felt horrible. i know i wont get the job. i had to wait out in the cold for 35 mintues to get picked up!!! because there always late. hense the reason i had my friend drop me off …….. but waiting i saw a smart, beautfiul, perfect girl from my schoool walk in with a resume…. shelll get the job i know it…. i wish i could just make them happy or proud of me!! should i just give up and work things out with my mom back home?! i dont know anymore. there both horrible lifes.. atleast my mom belives in me … help.

Do what makes you happy. Now that you are older maybe living with your mom will be better. Do not ever feel like youre not good enough bc you are! As long as you try your best and believe that good things will happen… they will

Where's the best place in Paris to watch Super Bowl XLIV?
I’m an American studying abroad in Paris for the semester, and there’s no way I’m missing the Super Bowl. I don’t have a TV in my homestay, so I’m looking for a nearby pub to watch the game with some friends. (I live in the 6e, but I don’t mind going a bit further for a fun time.)

Thanks!

Try The Great Canadian Pub, The Moosehead Pub or the Hard Rock Cafe

Don’t forget that the SB is played about 1am Paris time…..
Herfnerd | Feb 01, 2010

Come to think of it, kick-off time in Paris is on Monday at 0:30 (12:30am). Most bars or pubs close fairly early on that day of the week… but as I recall, there are a few venues that might be open on Grands Boulevards that are both open late and even have the game on TV.

My best guess would be to ask at every bar you see if they’re showing the game.

But anyway, why would the French want to watch a bunch of big men running around in tights, in a game that requires the ref to interrupt the flow every time it starts to get interesting, on a Sunday night, when they have Rugby and Football (Soccer)?
zigibumbala | Feb 01, 2010

dude, I’m hardly looking for a place to watch the superbowl too.
The problem is a lot of bars in Paris close at 2AM and superbowl will run from 12 to 4am.
I know the harry’s new york bar (located at opera station) might stay open all night long for the game coz it’s an American bar
I don’t know how old you are coz when I was there, the average age was around 30-40….I’m 22…and that was not crazy : I mean, you won’t probably be able to stand on the table, put your beer in the air and yell when the saints will get a touchdown !

The Wall bar (metro place monge) -for me the greatest pub in Paris – is a pub where many foreign students hang out, the pint cost 3
