"Thy must not murder"- (Ex 20:13) These words are very clear.?
Why do so-called christians believe in war? These words completely shut it down. Don’t go justifying the holy wars in the Bible with your unjust wicked wars. War is wrong for several reasons.
And don’t go trying to say it’s the same as capital punishment. The two are not the same. War is vigilante justice. Capital punishment is brought about by a court of law. You know trial, jury, lawyer, etc.
"Vengeance is mine, and retribution. At the appointed time their foot will move unsteadily, for the day of their disaster is near, and the events in readiness for them do make haste", says Jehovah. (De 32:35) Unless a person is qualified as executioner of vengeance by appointment of Jehovah, or by being designated as such by his Word, he does wrong if he attempts to avenge himself and others.
Jehovah’s vengeance brings relief and benefit when he acts in behalf of those who trust him; additionally, it procures praise to him as the just Judge.
Accordingly, the individual is condemned by God if he bears a grudge or seeks personal vengeance for real or fancied wrongs done to himself or to someone else.
"You must not take vengeance nor have a grudge against the sons of your people; and you must love your fellow as yourself. I am Jehovah." (Le 19:18)
"Do not avenge yourselves, beloved, but yield place to the wrath; for it is written: "Vengeance is mine; I will repay, says Jehovah." (Ro 12:19 )
For we know him that said: "Vengeance is mine; I will recompense"; and again: "Jehovah will judge his people." ( Heb 10:30 )
Jehovah’s vengeance has a purpose. Jehovah does nothing without a warning. To illustrate- The plagues Jehovah visited upon Egypt in the time of Moses were manifestations of his great power and caused his name to be declared among the nations. ( Ex 9:14, 16 ) Also, these plagues proved that the gods of Egypt were powerless. ( Ex 12:12; Nu 33:4 ) Jehovah warned Pharaoh to let my people go, so that they may serve him. They couldn’t worship him. He stepped in. Jehovah exacts exclusive devotion. So why is man’s war ever justified again? It’s not.
You know the risks when you enlist in warfare. Are you blaming that innocent child for being in the way before being killed by that bomb? That’s murder. Jehovah doesn’t make mistakes. We are not here to sacrifice our souls up for bloodshed. It is not honorable in God’s eyes at all.
Ok. I actually should have said-"You must not murder".
I don’t use the King James version- we are not in that era anymore. People don’t tend to speak like that now. So, I use what people would better understand. Sorry for the typo.
This is what separates pure worship to that of those of Babylon the Great, the world empire of false religion.
One true God, one True religion.
Matthew 7:22-23
Many will say to me in that day,
